Air Liberia
A photo of one of the Air Liberia planes, probably taken at Voinjama airport. In the late 1970s these aircraft provided service to the main population centres in Liberia. This was before GPS and the pilots used radio beacons for navigation. Given the almost constant heavy cloud cover and the mountrains inland, flying was always something of a thrill. The pilots had an amazing ability to find small airports in conditions of almost zero visibility.
