Bishop & Mrs. Nagbe and Winifred Harley
Until the mid 60s, bishops of the Methodist Church in Liberia were African-Americans sent from the US. Stephen Trowen Nagbe was the first indigenous Liberian bishop of the Methodist Church. He is shown here with his wife, Melvena, and Winifred Harley, who was being honored for the many years she and her husband, George, served as missionaries in Ganta.
