ELWA Saints

This is the Little League team that my Dad, Pete Ackley, coached for many years. When my Dad passed away last year, many of these young men sent tributes and/or traveled long distances to help celebrate his life. More often then not, his teams went undefeated!!

I didn’t know that baseball was played in Liberia. These pictures shows that Liberia was once a fun place. I pray that one day we’ll get Liberia back to be a fun place so that I can expericene what my dad always talked about.

ELWA stands for “Eternal Love Winning Africa”. It’s a missionary group associated with the Sudan Interior Mission, or SIM. You can find out lots and lots about what they do if you do a Google search for ELWA or SIM and include the word “Liberia” in your search string.
